The Challenge
To design annual reports and editorial publications that transformed dense, complex data into accessible and engaging narratives for stakeholders. This required solving three core design problems:
Data Simplification: Translating heavy financial transparency reports and impact metrics into clear, scannable data visualizations for the board of directors and donors.
Editorial Readability: Balancing dense mission-driven text with strategic white space and sophisticated typography to prevent reader fatigue.
Elevating Brand Authority: Upgrading the visual quality of the publications to a corporate level of polish to solidify the organization's reputation and authority in the Michigan nonprofit sector.
The Solution
I led the design and layout for magazines, annual reports, and special publications. By utilizing strategic white space, sophisticated typography, and data visualization, I turned complex information into accessible and visually compelling stories that effectively communicate the association’s impact and financial transparency.
